The Karigane is tea that consists of both leaf and stalk. It is produced by a family-owned tea company in Shizuoka Japan, not far from Mt. Fuji and was founded in 1869. Thus, this tea company has been owned and operated by the same family for five generations. Karigane is made from Gyokuro, which is plants that are grown in shaded areas. This tea is not only an attractive color, but is grassy and botanical. 2 ounces makes approximately 16 cups.
