Yunnan purple beauty is a light bodied tea, with no astringency. Both the purple leaves and buds are natural mutations and happens in various tea growing regions. The purple color of the leaves is due to the high levels of anthocyanin, which possess antidiabetic, anti-inflammatory and anti-obesity effects. The purple beauty has been propagated through the Menghai Research center and is scarcely available in the US. 2 ounces makes approximately 16 cups.
